2013 SAMA Awards - Diva's of South African Music

Kelly Khumalo showed exactly why she is the diva of South African music when she walked down the yellow carpet in not 1 but 2 dresses at the 2013 SAMA Awards.

For her first dress she wore a black long sleeved coat inspired dress that had a slip down the middle to show off her leg. She paired the black dress with stunning mosaic coloured shoes to give the dress some edge.


She returned to the yellow carpet wearing a red racy lace dress that showed off her every curve designed by Reggie Molamu. Cropped blonde hair pulled both the looks together making her the best dressed woman at the music event of the year for South African artists.

Another major star to hit the yellow carpet that night was Lira. Dressed in a simple black and white cap sleeved dress, Lira looked simple but elegant. She accessorized with dangling black earrings, black cuff on her hand and a black handbag.

Zonke Dikana was also at the event wearing a David Tlale dress. Black with lace panels and accessorizing with white heels that had silver tips. The shoes were not for this dress but everything else was perfect.

2013 Met Gala "PUNK" Theme

 

Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift were amongst the many stars who were at the 2013 Met Gala. The theme for the night was "Punk: From Chaos to Couture" and both starlets stayed true to their individual styles with great results.

 

Country songbird, Taylor Swift, chose a J. Mendel black dress with an embroidered collar and cutout panelling. She brought out her inner punkster with smokey eyes. Miley Cyrus, wore a Marc Jacobs fishnet dress. The "Hannah Montana" star intensified the punk look with her spiked hair and red lips.

 

Both these megastars have grown into their unique styles and for us fashion spectators, its a good thing.

 

Beyoncé, the Honourary Chair for this years Met Gala outdid herself in Givenchy. She wore a strapless dress with a leather corset and material from the waist down. The fire detail on the dress was continued on the fingers of the elbow length gloves and the knee high boots that she wore.

 

 

Green Lantern star, Blake Lively, chose a strapless Gucci creation with a tiered skirt. Beautiful silver beading and sparkling dangling earrings finished the outfit making it all about the elaborate dress.

 

 

 

Reality star Kim Kardashian opted for a floral print Givenchy dress with a high collar, long sleeves and a thigh high slit. She added a pop of colour with berry lips.
